SDA Pricing Review (from 16th June 2023)
Following a significant period of industry consultation, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) delivered the first Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Pricing Review on 16 June 2023.
With the input of a wide variety of industry stakeholders, the Review forms a comprehensive re-evaluation of pricing variables, mechanisms and numerous other recommendations formulated to guide market investment and provide optimal outcomes for participants.

The SDA Pricing Review and the Designs covering every accommodation model
The recently released SDA Pricing Review is the most comprehensive review to date of the pricing arrangements that apply to the funding of SDA. As part of this review the NDIA commissioned Kennedy Associates Architects to prepare reference designs covering every accommodation model included within the Price Guide. It’s the first time that the NDIA has had reference designs. Anthony Nolan from KAA will discuss the findings of the Technical Report relating to the analysis of the reference designs

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

LAILA BURNETT
M3 PROPERTY
Laila is the National Director of the Health, Aged Care and Seniors Living team.
She specialises in providing valuation and property advice.
Over the course of her career, Laila has worked across a range of asset classes including residential, commercial and industrial properties. In her current role, Laila undertakes valuations and advises clients in relation to medical, retirement, aged care and disability assets including going concern and freehold valuations on existing and proposed projects.
Laila specialises in the valuation of large portfolios for financial reporting purposes together with providing extensive market, demographic studies, acquisition and divestment advice.
Laila has been working in the property sector since 1997 providing a range of valuation services in both the residential and commercial sectors and also spent five years managing and operating her own real estate practice.

ANTHONY NOLAN
KENNEDY ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS
Anthony is a partner of Kennedy Associates Architects, an architectural and urban design practice based in Annandale, Sydney.
Anthony has been designing specialist disability housing since before the NDIS and has worked on hundreds of SDA projects spread across a wide range of typologies and scales, and has a good overview of the diversity of SDA housing options.
Anthony has been extensively involved in advocacy & has contributed to the preparation of the SDA Design Standard and has recently prepared the reference designs for the SDA Pricing Review

DAN ACFIELD

As co-founder and CEO of Specialist Disability Accommodation provider Everhomes, Dan Acfield is passionate about helping people living with disability to live with as much independence and dignity as possible.
He strongly believes in the capacity of Specialist Disability Accommodation to improve the lives of people needing accessible or special housing, and is passionate about its capacity to help deinstitutionalise accommodation for people living with disabilities in Australia.
Prior to Everhomes, Dan worked for many years advocating for the rights and wellbeing of children in care and adults with impaired capacity, and this background has been foundational in bringing a strong human rights focus to Everhomes’ approach.
