The role of an OT in assessing for SDA eligibility  

and; 

The role of an OT in assessing and recommend SDA design type, dwelling type, occupancy, whether OOA is needed       

With a developing housing market, occupational therapists have a central role in supporting and empowering people with disability and their families to make informed housing choices. 

Delegates will understand factors that restrict/enable a sustainable home, from an OT perspective and Build knowledge of dynamic assessment approaches and outcomes measures in planning for and enabling housing transition.

The future of SDA with interest rate rises and cost of living pressures

Changes to the NCC  - impacts for new builds 

In a first for South Australia, new homes built from October next year will be required to meet design standards improving accessibility and liveability for future generations.

Terry will present on the following ; 

Livable housing design

  • How to achieve compliance both Performance and DTS

  • Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions

  • ABCB Standard for Livable Housing Design

Energy - Efficiency changes for new homes in SA (including SDA) 

The National Construction Code (NCC) 2022 is to be implemented in May 2023, with state transitional periods in place for Energy, Condensation and Livability.  

 

Josh will be discussing the changes to Energy Efficiency and Condensation sections of Volume 1 and Volume 2.

 

The presentation  will summarise the changes, run through real world examples of compliance under NCC 2022 and provide an update on South Australia's adoption dates.
